Telescopic Connector Details

The KTC module is designed for rig floor connection of two independent measurement modules that are anchored to the Drill Collar or Sub. A typical application for this connection is when making up a MWD tool (with a top mount Pulser) to collar-based tools such as a Resistivity tool or Rotary Steerable tool. It can be ordered with stroke lengths of 6” – 36” depending on the application (drill collar length variations). The overall length is dependent on stroke and the style of end connections that are chosen. A Translation Board can also be integrated in the module to convert data streams between modules (eg. CanBus or Uart to Qbus).
